The Audio review summarizes the plot and gives insight into the movie's main themes without spoiling the movie for the listeners. The focus was on the characters, and the review mimics the style of Roy Walker's story-telling. While there are other characters in the movie, the central figures are continuously looking for revenge and thus the plot revolves around their journey to defeat Governor Odious.

Background
The Fall is a 2006 film set in the 1920’s where Roy walker, a stuntman, is stationed in a hospital. In this film created by Tarsem Singh, Roy meets Alexandria—a young and cheeky immigrant child—who has a broken arm. Through discussion, Roy starts to befriend the Alexandria by creating these elaborate stories that the audience sees through the POV of Alexandria. These stories come to mind and are centered on the real people in Roy’s life. Roy also falls in love with Nurse Evelyn, but he knows that he cannot be with her (the reason is never given). She is also within the story line and also within Alexandria’s imagination. After Roy’s condition does not improve, he starts to change the story line and kills all his fictional characters. This upsets Alexandria for she vividly imagines all of the friends she has made die within her imagination. The film resolves with Roy’s getting well and ultimately recovering and providing a happy ending to Alexandria as well. |
